Agadir is a city with two stories: the old kasbah on its hill, and the modern resort rebuilt after the earthquake of 1960. A private city tour lets you see both at your own pace — from the panoramic walls above the bay to the scents and colour of Souk El Had, and a slow walk along the seafront.
Highlights
Agadir Oufella
The hilltop kasbah, founded in the 16th century, was largely destroyed in 1960; its restored walls now look out over the whole bay.
Souk El Had
One of Morocco’s largest markets, with thousands of stalls of produce, spices, argan products, textiles and crafts.
The marina and promenade
A quieter, elegant side of the city, where the long sandy beach meets the harbour.
A city rebuilt
Modern Agadir, reshaped after 1960, explains much of the calm, open character visitors notice today.
What to expect
A city tour is easily shaped around you: a morning focused on the souk, a late-afternoon visit to the kasbah hill for the view, or a gentle mix of both. Tell us what interests you and how much walking feels comfortable.
Good to know
- Souk El Had is generally closed on Mondays; Sunday tends to be its busiest day.
- On Fridays some stalls close around midday prayers.
- The kasbah hill is exposed to sun and wind — bring a hat and a light layer.
Where it is
Agadir Oufella rises at the northern end of the bay, above the port and marina. Souk El Had is set inland from the beach, within the modern city.

It is generally closed on Mondays. If market day matters to you, mention it when you write and we’ll plan around it.
Is the tour suitable for limited mobility?
