The coast north of Agadir is one of Morocco’s best-known surf regions, centred on the village of Taghazout. Whether you are standing on a board for the first time or refining your technique, lessons can be arranged on beaches suited to your level, where available — with the ocean setting the rhythm of the day.

What to expect
Lessons usually start with a briefing on the sand — paddling, standing up and ocean safety — before moving into the water. Beginners stay in the white water close to shore. Tell us each surfer’s level and age.

Questions
I have never surfed. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Say so when you write and lessons can focus on the basics.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
You should be comfortable in the water. Mention any concerns and we’ll advise.
